Happy Birthday Haley! The big 14!

Haley has a loner birthday. She is the only one in our family that doesn' t either share a birthday with someone else, or have a birthday a couple of days before someone else. At our house, we just have one massive birthday celebration in August. But, today, is March 30th. So Happy Birthday Haley! Consider yourself lucky that we aren't "birthday broke" this month. Haley will celebrate her birthday by playing in the school talent show. She has been working on a beautiful piano piece called "Shine" for several months now. At first, her piano teacher thought it might be a little to advanced for Haley. But you know what is great about Haley? Her personality is always about proving she is capable. Which I think is a great characteristic of this special girl! Haley is such a gift to our family. Always willing to help, she takes initiative to get things done and you will often find her dancing through the house, playing the piano.....or taking pictures. She loves life! One interesting fact about Haley--she was born on Easter Sunday. We were living in Idaho at the time. Robb was a crazy busy graduate student and I spent everyday of my Idaho life in a tiny duplex with two one year olds. Robb would leave at 7:00am and not get home until 10:00pm at night. It was a really rough time. So naturally, when spring break arrived, I was ready for a little R and R at my mom's house. I was cleared by my Doc to travel and we headed south for the annual Cowan Egghunt. After a great Saturday, I woke up early Sunday morning and realized we would be going back home with a baby. Haley was coming early. Robb tried to talk me into driving back to Pocatello. It's a good thing we didn't. She would have been born in Brigham City. We got to the hospital at about 8:00am and she was born at 9:20 am. A burst of Springtime Sunshine! She didn't have a name for a week. We tossed around several--Ally, Katie, Robin Melissa ( Robb'n Melissa--a joke), but ultimatley decided on Haley. I think it totally suits her. Happy Birthday to our sweet Haley!

That's fun that she was born on Easter. My newphew Gavin was born on April 12, Easter Sunday. The nurses put bunny ears on him in the hospital.
She's such a cute girl.
